We love our Lamancha & Saanen Goats! We had so much milk left after weaning our babies, the question of what to do with all of this milk was apparent when we started running out of room in our refrigerator. Cheese making is a given, but what I was really surprised to learn about was the ancient beauty secret of goat's milk and how many believe it is even better for you then what is currently in your beauty cabinet right now!

Since ancient Egypt, goat's milk has been used to cleanse, beautify & condition skin. According to ancient lore, Egypt’s most famous Queen Cleopatra was a “woman of surpassing beauty”, whose biggest beauty secret was goat milk—used as soap and lotion. This ancient secret was also known to the Romans and Greeks who pampered themselves with milk baths and hair treatments, and French and English aristocracy who also indulged in milk treatments in the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries.

Cleopatra was onto something when she used milk, which she credited with preserving the beauty and youth of her skin. As expensive as this treatment was in ancient Egypt, Cleopatra recognized that the milk did something for her skin.

Milk contains protein, fats, vitamins, and lactic acid, which naturally strengthen skin and hair cells. This natural remedy works the same way that expensive, lab-created conditioners and lotions do. The fat and protein molecules lock in moisture in skin and hair cells. Lactic acid exfoliates dead cells, while vitamin A absorbs into the skin, both contributing to its healthy glow.

Some people say that the use of milk-based beauty products has made their hair stronger and shinier, and after years of looking for a treatment, their dandruff is finally gone. Others report that it has reduced their acne, psoriasis, eczema, and other skin conditions. Parents all over the world have raved about its healing abilities, especially for their children’s sensitive skin.

So I looked up ancient methods of crafting soaps and lotions, then I raided my beauty cabinet and took note of all of my favorite products to see the best oils to be used. Next came A LOT of research and reading on the benefits of essential oils and their healing qualities, followed by testing my recipes on family & friends... and Goat Goddess Beauty Products was born!  Goat Goddess Beauty brings you goat’s milk lotions, soaps, body butters, scrubs, hair care and other bath and beauty products to Awaken Your Inner Goddess!
